IRAN

Iran is universally known for producing some of the best quality pistachios in the world. This quality can be directly attributed to the sunny weather of this country, which follows the average cold and rainy winters.

Fandoghi pistachios belong to the round types, one of the most famous type of Pistachios in the world which its appearance resembles a hazelnut.

About 60 to 70 percent of Rafsanjan’s pistachio cultivation belongs to this cultivar.

Ohadi Pistachio is one of the most common commercial cultivars of pistachio and selected between 1320 to 1330 in the Fath Abad village of Rafsanjan by Mahdi Ohadi.

Ohadi with Ahmad Aghaei Pistachio, Akbari and Jumbo is among most famous pistachio varieties.

It is a very famous and suitable cultivar for planting in most regions where pistachio has expanded greatly over the past 50 years.

This cultivar is the most widely available pistachio variety and grows in most pistachio growing areas of Iran.

Fandoghi is one of the round types and has the lowest shape index among the four cultivars.

In recent years, around 50% of Iranian production is of the Fandoghi type.

Pistachios are a great source of protein, antioxidants, vitamin B6, potassium and healthy fats.
