IRAN
Iran is universally known for producing some of the best quality pistachios in the world. This quality can be directly attributed to the sunny weather of this country, which follows the average cold and rainy winters.
Akbari Pistachio is the longest type compare to all the other commercial pistachios from Iran which are well known by the traders in the world.
It has a large fruit in almond shape.
Akbari harvesting time is around late September.
From every 100 grams of dried fruit (nut with shell) 55 to 54 grams of nut is available.
The protein content of the nut is 6.19% and its fat content is 2.53%. In terms of biennial bearing, it is average.
It is the newest commercial variety and its very popular with the farmers, that is because of high yield and its shorter time to reach production.
